Allen has puppy love
Joan Allen (The Bourne Ultimatum) will star in Hachiko, A Dog's Story, a remake of a Japanese film to be directed by Lasse Hallstrom (The Hoax). The film, written by Stephen P. Lindsey (When They Could Fly), is based on the true story of an Akita dog that waited for his master for over a decade, but the master never came home because he was already dead. Richard Gere will also star in the film, set to begin production in January in Rhode Island.
