Wilkins to helm The Grudge 3
Toby Wilkins will direct the sequel to The Grudge 2, cleverly titled The Grudge 3. Production is expected to begin in January and Columbia will distribute. The films are Americanized remakes of the Japanese horror franchise Ju-on: The Grudge, based on a Japanese haunted house legend. The Grudge, released in 2004, performed strongly at the box office, earning just over $110 million. Its 2006 sequel earned a modest $39 million.
