Taps gets a remake
20th Century Fox and New Regency will join forces to remake Taps, the 1981 military drama. Notable actors who had roles in the film include Tom Cruise, Sean Penn and Timothy Hutton. Frank E. Flowers is writing the script and may also direct. The original film was directed by Harold Becker and has a group of cadets who seize control of their military academy so that construction crews won't be able to tear it down to build condos.
