Stiles picks up what Polley is putting down
Julia Stiles has signed on to take over for Sarah Polley, who was initially attached to star in the thriller Cry of the Owl, written and directed by Jamie Thraves. In the adaptation of a 1962 novel by Patricia Highsmith, Stiles will play a woman who falls in love with her stalker. Paddy Considine will play said stalker, and Scott Speedman will be Stiles' ex, who plots revenge against her. Principal photography begins Oct. 30 in Toronto.

Cast ready for Cry of the Owl
Sarah Polley, Paddy Considine, Debra Messing and Scott Speedman have all signed to star in Cry of the Owl, an adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novel. Polley plays a woman who falls for her stalker (Considine). When her jilted ex-lover (Speedman) plots his vengeance, events turn unpleasant. Messing will play the ex-wife of Speedman's character.
