Allen is a Redbelt
Tim Allen is set to star in Redbelt for Sony Pictures Classics. David Mamet is directing the movie from his own screenplay. Other stars of the film include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Emily Mortimer, Alice Braga, Joe Mantegna, Rodrigo Santoro, Ricky Jay, David Paymer, Rebecca Pidgeon, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Randy Couture, John Machado, Danny Inosanto, Enson Inoue and Ray Mancini. Ejiofor will play a Jiu-jitsu master who finds his purity in the sport is compromised when he is pulled into the movie business and talked into participating in ultimate fighting matches. Allen will play a troubled action film star who meets Ejiofor's character when he is being destroyed in a street fight.
