Hackford helming Mr. Anthony
Taylor Hackford (Ray) has signed on to direct Good Luck, Mr. Anthony for Disney. Aryman Bernstein and Terry Jastrow wrote the screenplay, which tells the story of Lawrence Anthony, a man who operates a wildlife preserve in South Africa. As he watched the invasion of Iraq, Anthony remembered that oftentimes animals in zoos become innocent victims of wars as they are killed or die from neglect. He crossed into Iraq via the Kuwait border and rallied the zoo staff to return and protect the animals. He stayed at the zoo for six months.
