Overture and Echo Hot for 'Nam Story
Overture Films and Echo Lake Prods. will produce 105 Degrees and Rising, a drama set during the 1975 fall of Saigon in Vietnam. Jon Amiel (Entrapment) is directing from William M. Akers' screenplay. The story features multiple storylines, as various characters try to get out of South Vietnam. The title is derived from secret code broadcast on Armed Forces Radio. The announcement that "the temperature is 105 degrees and rising" followed by eight bars from Bing Crosby's hit White Christmas indicated that all United States citizens should evacuate the country immediately.
