Cruise and Stiller are Hardy
Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller will team-up to star in The Hardy Men, an action comedy based on mystery series The Hardy Boys for 20th Century Fox. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum; Cheaper by the Dozen) will direct the film, which will see the sleuths (and brothers) grown up but not speaking to each other. They have been estranged for years but are foced to reunite to solve a mystery. The long-running book series originally began in 1927 and was written by a variety of ghost writers under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon. Joe and Frank Hardy were amateur detectives who often assisted their father, a private detective, in solving cases. They have also appeared on TV in various forms over the years.
