Paramount Heads for White City
Paramount Pictures has acquired the film rights to Erik Larson's bestselling novel The Devil in the White City. The nonfiction story is set during the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and follows the stories of fair architect Daniel H. Burnham as well as serial killer H.H. Holmes. Holmes used a hotel near the fair to lure his victims. The rights to the story were previously held by Paramount back in 2003, with Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner set to produce, but the option lapsed.
