MGM to Release Story of Mary
MGM has obtained the North American theatrical distribution rights to Myriam, Mother of the Christ, the biblical story of Mary. Benedict Fitzgerald (The Passion of the Christ) wrote the script, which is a dramatic tale of the key events in Mary's life including the birth of Jesus and the holy family's journey to Navareth following King Herod's death. The story will be told from Mary's point of view, as she gradually understands and comes to terms with her holy calling. The studio is aiming for an Easter 2008 release date.
