Sissies Headed for the Big Screen
Del Shores Prods. and Funny Boy Films are partnering to create a feature film adaptation of the stage drama Southern Baptist Sissies. Leslie Jordan (TV shows including Will & Grace and Boston Legal) and Delta Burke (Designing Women) will star in the story about four boys' experiences dealing with growing up gay in the Baptist Church. Others in the cast include members of the play Beth Grant, Rosemary Alexander, Scott Presley, Rich Delia and Newell Alexander. Shores will direct. The play debuted in Los Angeles in 2000 and had an award-winning 10-month run.
