Dimension is Crazy for Madman Comic
Dimension Films has obtained the film rights to comicbook creator Michael Allred's Madman series and will turn it into a live-action feature. George Huang (Swimming with Sharks) will direct and also write the script, with a hand from Allred. The story is a "post-modernist reimagining of the Frankenstein tale" but also with a superhero take. Madman, the title character, was killed in a car accident and brought back to life by a wacky doctor. The doctor names hame Frank Einstein and gives him heightened senses, psychic ability and strong physical skills. Madman's face can't be fixed, so he wears a mask to hide the scars. The producers, including Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellan, hope to model the project after Sin City by making Allred an active part of the process.
