Weinsteins to Bring Nightmare Detective to US
The Weinstein Company has obtained distribution rights for Nightmare Detective, the latest supernatural thriller out of Japan. The Weinsteins will hold the rights in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The film was written and directedy by Shinya Tsukamoto (A Snake of June; Ichi the Killer) and stars Ryuhei Matsuda, Masanobu Ando and singer Hitomi. The tale is about a female detective who investigates a pair of suicides that are mysteriously connected due to the fact that both victims had dialed 0 on their cellphones just before dying. The detective locates a man with the power to enter people's dreams.
