Witherspoon Leaves Bunny Lake
Just five weeks before production was scheduled to begin on Bunny Lake is Missing, star and producer Reese Witherspoon has dropped out of the film. That leaves director Joe Carnahan in a rush to find a replacement, but the start date will likely have to be bumped back. The project is based on the 1965 Otto Preminger film about a woman who reports that her daughter Bunny Lake is missing. However police confront her with charges that the girl never even existed.

Reese to Star in Bunny Remake
Joe Carnahan (Narc) will direct and Reese Witherspoon will star in Bunny Lake is Missing, a remake of the 1965 Otto Preminger film of the same name. The story is about the events that happen after a woman reports that her daughter Bunny Lake is missing. But police can't find any evidence that the girl even existed and question the woman's sanity. Distribution and financial deals are still under way, but Spyglass Entertainment is in talks to finance and Columbia Pictures to distribute domestically.
