Kretschmann to Play Murderer Eichmann
Thomas Kretschmann (The Pianist) will play infamous Nazi mass murderer Adolf Eichmann in Eichmann. The story, to be directed by Robert Young (Young Indiana Jones Chronicles; Fierce Creatures), is based on the confession of the SS officer who was essentially in charge of the logistics of carrying out the Holocaust. He was eventually captured by the Israeli secret service after the war and put on trial in Israel. Israeli police officer Captain Avner Less (Troy Garity) cross-examined the killer before his execution, and this becomes the central piece of the film. There will also be a number of flashbacks to the war. Others in the cast include Franka Potente (The Bourne Identity) and Stephen Fry (V for Vendetta).
