DreamWorks' Destiny is Blood and Thunder
DreamWorks has obtained the rights to author Hampton Sides' book Blood and Thunder. The story tells the tale of the Manifest Destiny, the 19th century effort to stretch America to the far-west. The tale focuses on the slaughter of the many American Indian tribes. One major character in the story is Kit Carson, a trapper and mountain man who married two Indian women but also hypocritically fought against the Indians in several battles. Carson's adventures were written about in pulp stories known as "blood and thunders."
