Universal Revives Comic Cobalt 60
Universal Pictures has obtained the rights to cult comic book Cobalt 60, with Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead; 300) attached to direct and produce. The story takes place in a postapocalyptic world of mutants and other creatures, where masked man Cobalt 60 is on a quest to avenge the murder of his parents at the hands of Strontium 90. Underground comic artist Vaughn Bode created the comic in 1968, but it fell into obscurity after just one issue. Bode's son Mark took up the story in the 1980s and revived the trippy art style and violent nature. Larry Todd plotted the stories, which were published in Epic Illustrated.
