McCarthy Helps the Visitor
Tom McCarthy will write and direct The Visitor, to be his first directing work since indie hit The Station Agent in 2003. Richard Jenkins (North Country) is attached to star in the movie, about a widower living a ho-hum existence as a college professor. His life is rattled one day, though, when he meets two illegal immigrants. He befriends one of them and tries to help when discovered by immigration authorities.
