Jackman to Spin Carousel
Fox 2000 will remake 1950s musical Carousel, with Hugh Jackman in the starring role. The original version, from famous writing duo Rodgers & Hammerstein, starred Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones. Jackman would take the role of Billy Bigelow. Bigelow is a carnival barker with a serious temper, that gets him in trouble and in the middle of a robbery gone bad. He dies and is sent to purgatory, where he is given one day to return to Earth and fix his troubles.
