Disney to Create 2D Frog
Walt Disney will return to the traditional 2D animation business with Frog Princess, a new twist on the classic fairy tale of the frog prince. New Disney Animation heads Ed Catmull and John Lasseter, who revolutionized the animation world at Pixar, will oversee the project. John Musker and Ron Clements, who worked together on 2D classic The Little Mermaid, are in charge of developing the movie. But they also worked on one of Disney's last ventures into traditional animation, Treasure Planet, which was a critical and box office failure.
