Hogan Tapped to Chase Vermeer
P.J. Hogan (My Best Friend's Wedding; Peter Pan) will direct Chasing Vermeer, Warner Bros.' adaptation of Blue Balliett's best-selling children's book. The mystery adventure is decribed as The Da Vinci Code for teens and preteens. In the story, a pair of sixth graders from a University of Chicago Laboratory School for the giftedtry to solve the theft of a painting by famed 17th century painter Johannes Vermeer. In the original book, codes and clues are found in the illustrations by Brett Helquist of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
