Levy to Write and Direct Ritchie Boys
Dani Levy will write and direct The Ritchie Boys, based on a true story about a group of mostly Jewish men who fled Nazi Germany. They went to the United States where they joined the U.S. Army and later returned to Europe to work as secret agents in the fight against Hitler. The movie will continue a trend of German-Jewish themed movies from Levy, after comedy Go for Zucker and the upcoming controversial Mein Fuehrer, which will be released in Germany in January. The story of The Ritchie Boys was also examined in a documentary by Christian Bauer, which made the short list for the 2005 Oscars.
