Director, Writer, and Star Tapped for Marfa
Carlos Carrera (The Crime of Father Amaro) will direct, and Julian Goldberger (The Hawk is Dying) will write the screenplay for, The Marfa Lights. Brian Presley (TV soap Port Charles) will star in the film. The story, set in Marfa, Texas, is about twin brothers - one smuggles illegal immigrants across the border and the other just got back from fighting in Iraq - who compete for the affection of a Mexican shaman. Meanwhile, the brothers also must deal with their father who wants them to continue working on the family ranch. It is loosely based on 18th century French author George Sand's "Le Petite Fadette." Terrence Malick and Ed Pressman's Sunflower Prods. is producing the film.
