Warner to Revive Conan
Warner Bros. will revive Conan the Barbarian as a movie franchise, and has hired Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans; Fresh) to write and possibly direct the film. Created by Robert E. Howard, the sword-wielding Conan was a popular comic book in the 1970s. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the character in a pair of 1980s movies, Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer. Yakin's vision is said to be more faithful to Howard's original story, though, and Warner hopes to begin production in early 2007.
