Wright and Def see Scarlett
Jeffrey Wright and Mos Def have been tapped to star in the adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel Little Scarlett. HBO Films would be supervising the project and would release the movie theatrically through Picturehouse. The movie would be the second to center around the characters of Easy Rawlins and Mouse, roles that were originated by Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle in 1995's Devil in a Blue Dress. It is unknown at this which of the two actors will portray Rawlins and which one will play Mouse. Little Scarlett is set right after the Watts riots in L.A. in 1965. When white cops are afraid to investigate the murder of a black woman because the prime suspect is a white man to whom she gave shelter, Rawlins is recruited for the job.
