Picturehouse Gets the Rose
Picturehouse has obtained the U.S. distribution rights for La Vie en Rose, a French-language biopic of French singer Edith Piaf. Marion Cotillard (as Piaf) and Gerard Depardieu (as the nightclub owner who discovered her) star in writer and director Oliver Dahan's film. The story concentrates on Piaf's rise to fame from the slums of Paris and on to the spotlight in New York, where she juggled several romances and relationships with other stars of the 1940s and 50s.
