Hudson, Watanabe Dream Red
Kate Hudson and Ken Watanabe have signed on to star in A Dream of Red Mansions. The romance, inspired by a true story, takes place during the Chinese Revolution in 1949 and is about an American photojournalist who falls in love with a revolutionary. Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) is set to direct, and Donald Martin is the screenwriter.
