Rubin Goes Into the Light
Fox 2000 and producer Gil Netter will adapt Into the Light, based on Robert Kurson's upcoming book (which was expansion of an article that was originally published in Esquire magazine). Bruce Joel Rubin, who won an Academy Award for his original screenplay of Ghost, will write the script. The true life story concerns Michael May, an accomplished blind athlete who holds the downhill skiing record for a completely blind person at a speed of 65 mph. A few years ago May was given the opportunity for a ground-breaking stem-cell operation that could restore his sight.
