Rhames is a Man
Ving Rhames is set to produce 3/5 of a Man, a low-budget adaptation of the Michael Henry Brown Off Broadway play. The story follows Nat Turner and the 1831 slave rebellion in Virginia. Anthony Mackie will portray Turner, Rhames will play his best friend, Hark. Other cast members include John Amos, Beverly Todd, Zeliko Ivanek, Peter Dinklage, Tiny Lister, Michael Taliferro and Dana Delany. The title is taken from language in the Constitution that counted slaves as 3/5 of a person for the purposes of determining Southern representation in Congress.
