Hoodwinked gets a follow-up

The Weinstein Co. will once again partner with Kanbar Entertainment as the two companies will team on a sequel to their current CG-animated release Hoodwinked. The new film will be titled Hood vs. Evil. Hoodwinked was the Weinstein Co.'s first animated project and had a budget at less than $20 million. It managed $16.9 million in its first weekend at the box office. The plan is to improve the animation with a larger budget, and Harvey Weinstein has already spoken to Anne Hathaway about reprising her role as Red Riding Hood. The sequel will put the teenaged Red in a distant land, where she is training with a secret group called the Sisters of the Hood. Nicky Flippers - who is head of the Happily Ever After Agency - calls her and teams her up with the Wolf to look into the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. Granny and other members of the Hoodwinked gang will also return. Along with Hathaway, Hoodwinked features voice talent from Glenn Clsoe, Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Anthony Anderson and Xzbit. The sequel will be written and directed by Cory Edwards, Todd Edwards and Tony Leech.
