Eastwood working on second Iwo Jima project
Clint Eastwood, deciding to expand the canvas of his tale while researching the upcoming Flags of Our Fathers, has decided to do two films on the subject of Iwo Jima. Flags of Our Fathers tells the story from the American point of view, while Red Sun, Black Sand will look at events from the Japanese side. Iris Yamashita will write the screenplay in consultation with Flags scripter Paul Haggis, and Ken Watanabe is rumored to be the main contender for the lead role in Red Sun.
