Kaufman is Interrupted
Philip Kaufman (The Right Stuff, Quills) is set to direct I Was Interrupted, a biopic of Rebel Without a Cause director Nicholas Ray. Oren Moverman (Jesus' Son) wrote the screenplay. The film is based on Ray's memoir, which chronicles the last decade of the director's life. He struggled with drugs and alcohol, had several battles with Hollywood and had a relationship with the teenaged Susan Schwartz, who was to eventually become his wife.
