Valderrama is Ponch
Warner Bros. is remaking the classic cop television series CHiPs, and has signed That 70s Show's Wilmer Valderrama to star as Ponch. The role of Francis Llewellyn "Ponch" Poncherello was portrayed by Erik Estrada during the show's original run, with Larry Wilcox playing Jon Baker. The Jon Baker role has yet to be filled. The show ran from 1977-1983 and centered on the efforts of the California Highway Patrol to nab bad guys. The remake, of course, will be an action comedy along the lines of Starsky & Hutch. Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove will write the screenplay.
