Writers Aim for Frankie Machine
Ocean's Thirteen screenwriters Brian Koppelman and Davide Levien will adapt The Winter of Frankie Machine for Paramount Pictures. Robert DeNiro is set to star in the Don Winslow mob story about a hitman who gives up his work for a quiet life as a bait shop owner. But when the son of a mob boss asks for his help, he finds that he may be in danger.

De Niro goes back to mafia world
Robert De Niro is attached to star in The Winter of Frankie Machine, an adaptation of the forthcoming Don Winslow book set amidst the mafia. Although De Niro had said that he would never again play such a role, this one really drew his interest. He'll play a former mafia man who has left the business in order to start his own bait shop. When he discovers that he has been targeted for a hit, he has to get back into his old line of work.
