Universal Blinks
Universal will have the distribution rights to the movie adaptation of the Malcolm Gladwell non-fiction book Blink. As we reported yesterday, Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the film, which will be directed and written by Stephan Gaghan. DiCaprio's Appian Way shingle will also produce. The film will center around a writer very much like Gladwell, and will also feature several of the characters from the book. That book is a series of vignettes about making quick judgments, with several real-life case studies.

DiCaprio Blinks
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in and produce an adaptation of the Malcolm Gladwell non-fiction book Blink. The book is about the value of first impressions and discusses the way that the mind makes quick judgments that are of more value than we realize. He uses a variety of vignettes to elaborate his point (for example, he discusses the reason that Pepsi usually was the winner in the Pepsi Challenge - it tastes better in the short term than Coke, but people who are asked to drink a full bottle of both drinks generally choose the Coke). Stephen Gaghan will write and direct the film. It is set up to be based around a writer character like Gladwell (DiCaprio) and various characters from the book, woven into one cohesive story.
