New Line Jumps
New Line Cinema has acquired the pitch The Jump Off from Michael Elliot (Brown Sugar, Like Mike). The movie centers on a choreographer who has to serve community service in a neighborhood where the kids love hip-hop. Although he's initially reluctant to get involved, he ultimately gets his charges involved in a local Jump Off competition. Elliot got the idea from his five-year-old daughter, who exemplifies that age group's growing interest in the hip-hop music genre.
