Johansson, Farrell cast for Borgia
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Farrell are set to star in director Neil Jordan's long-time passion project Borgia. Jordan wrote the screenplay for the film, which examines the internal struggles of 15th century Rome's most powerful family. The story begins when the Pope dies and Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia becomes the top prospect to take over the job - even though he has a number of illegitimate children. He ascends to the title nonetheless and begins to make a number of moves to consolidate power, both alienating and embracing members of his family in the process.
