Walden gets some Heat
Walden Media has hired Bobby Moresco (Crash) to adapt the Mike Lupica baseball novel Heat for a screenplay. Moresco, along with co-writer Paul Haggis, is currently nominated for an Academy Award in the original screenplay category. The story follows a 12-year-old Cuban immigrant and baseball prodigy who is living with his 17-year-old brother in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. He has high hopes of playing in the Little League World Series, but a rival accuses him of being older than the league limit.
