Kindred Media goes to Game

Kindred Media has acquired the distribution rights to Game 6, a film that screened at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. The screenplay is the first one ever written by acclaimed novelist Don DeLillo, who is known for books such as White Noise and Mao II. The movie is directed by Michael Hoffman and stars Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Griffin Dunne, Bebe Neuwirth, Catherine OHara, and Ari Graynor. The story has playwright Nicky Rogan (Keaton) fixated on failure on the night before the opening of his new play. He has his reasons, too. Not only is his marriage a mess, but his lead actor has a parasite in his brain that is causing him to forget his lines. Additionally, there is asbestos in the air of the theater, and Nicky is terrified of the critic Steven Schwimmer (Downey Jr.), a man so hated that he has started carrying a gun with him when he goes to plays. All of this takes place on October 25, 1986, a day that is extremely significant for Red Sox fans. And Rogan is a die-hard Sox fan.
