Miramax gets The Queen
Miramax has acquired distribution rights to Stephen Frears' portrait of the royal family, titled The Queen. Helen Mirren stars as Queen Elizabeth II, James Cromwell portrays Prince Phillip and Michael Sheen is Prime Minister Tony Blair. The movie is based on a screenplay by Peter Morgan, and centers on the royal family in the time following Princess Diana's death in 1997.
