Warner Bros. ready for Stompanato
Warner Bros. is putting together the pieces for a movie about the tempestuous relationship between Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato. The movie will be titled Stompanato, and will center on the rather famous relationship between Johnny Stomp, who was a bagman and bodyguard for gangster Mickey Cohen, and the gorgeous movie starlet Turner. The relationship came to a violent end when Turner's daughter, Cheryl Crane, stabbed Stompanato to death in what was eventually ruled justifiable homicide. Keanu Reeves and Catherine Zeta-Jones are looking to star in the film, and Adrian Lyne will direct. The screenplay was originally written by David and Janet Peoples, and has a rewrite from Sebastian Gutierrez.
