Sony goes Gray
Sony Pictures is set to pay Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) $3 million for his 75-page "scriptment" (which is not quite a script, but more than a treatment) of the as-yet unpublished Whitley Strieber alien novel The Grays. The story centers on an alien race who can be essentially imagined as the "United States of the Cosmos". They run everything on Earth in addition to handling issues on other worlds. They perform their duties in complete secrecy, as they have a "Prime Directive" type duty to keep from being involved in the development of mankind. Although no one has yet been hired, the lead role is apparently intended for a female.
