Pacino goes to Rififi
Al Pacino is set to star in a remake of the 1955 French heist classic Rififi, with Harold Becker hired to direct. The original film was directed in France by Jules Dassin, who went there to film after being blacklisted in Hollywood. The story centers on a career thief who discovers that his wife has left him when he arrives home from a prison stay. He decides to plan another heist as a result. The first film is remembered for a 30 minute robbery sequence that has no dialogue or music.
