Universal is Outsourced

Universal has acquired the rights to "My Outsourced Life", an A.J. Jacobs article that will be appearing in September's Esquire magazine. Jay Roach (Meet the Fockers) is set to adapt the story with Larry Stuckey and will given first right of refusal at directing. Jacobs is an editor-at-large at Esquire and has written this particular article about the outsourcing trend that is occurring in corporate America. To show what effects might result, he applied the practice to his writing career. He starts with an assistant named Honey, who organized his business and handled routine jobs by phone from India. Since she was incredibly efficient, Jacobs soon hired a team of India-based assistants to deal with various aspects of his life - from talking to his parents to purchasing gifts for his wife.
