Friedman goes for Fine Dark Line
Adam Friedman has acquired the rights to Joe R. Lansdale's novel A Fine Dark Line and will produce it as a feature film. Lansdale has already been hired to write the script, and Friedman will direct. The movie is a coming-of-age story set in 1950s East Texas. It centers on a young boy named Stanley Mitchell who is obsessed with the contents of an old box that contain the secrets of a small town's past. Friedman compares the story to Stand by Me, but says it has a ghost story twist.
