New Line is Scared Straight
New Line Cinema has acquired the spec script Scared Straight from writer Joe Gazzam. The thriller centers on the teenage son of a governor who is sent to prison on the Scared Straight program, which is a crime-prevention plan that has delinquent teens imprisoned for a short while with the intention of deterring them from a life of crime. While the governor's son is there, a riot breaks out and he is taken hostage. He is able to garner the support of some other street kids and a con in order to help him stop the riot.
