Lions Gate readies PDR

Sunu Gonera has signed to make his feature film directorial debut on PDR for Lions Gate Films. PDR stands for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation, and the inspirational sports story will center on the real-life tale of Jim Ellis. In the 1970s, he started a black swim team in one of the roughest neighborhoods in the city. He recruited a number of troubled teens - many of whom had never swum - and was able to lead them to the state championships.
