HDNet goes for Diggers
HDNet Films has greenlit Diggers, a period piece that will be released simultaneously via theatrical, home video and cable markets. Magnolia Pictures will handle the actual distribution. Paul Rudd, Ken Marino, Josh Hamilton, Ron Eldard, Maura Tierney, Lauren Ambrose and Sarah Paulson will star. Marino also wrote the screenplay, and Katherine Dieckmann will direct. The movie is set in the 1970s and centers on two generations of clam diggers who are trying to keep steady a way of life that is going through trauma due to major changes in the Hamptons.
