Warner Bros. likes Spring
Warner Bros. has acquired rights to Endymion Spring, by Matthew Skelton. The book will be published in early 2006 by Delacourt in the U.S. The story goes back and forth between present-day Oxford and the beginning of the printing process in 1450s Germany. A young printer's apprentice finds a strange chest with clasps that resemble snake heads - and fangs that are believed to be poisoned. He touches it, and the fangs pierce his fingers, causing them to bleed. The chest opens, and it contains a secret that will stay hidden for 500 years.
