Nickelodeon buys a House
Nickelodeon Movies has picked up feature film rights to the upcoming fantasy novel Drift House, by Dale Peck. The book will be published in September and is the first in a planned trilogy. The story centers on a girl and her two younger brothers. They are sent to Canada to live with an uncle whose house resembles a ship that sits at the edge of the sea. Inside the house, the children find a mural that seems as though it might predict the future. Additionally, there is a parrot historian/translator and a dumbwaiter that allows one of the brothers to travel into the future.
